Starting this post first thing this morning, but it won't go live until after my first run. Before I head out I am having a small glass of good ole H20 and a Kashi Berry Muffin bar; I was informed last night by one of my Awesome People that exercising on a completely empty stomach is a Bad Idea. She suggested a Power Bar, but I don't have any, so this will have to do for today.
All done, here I GO!
Back! I am sweaty, grungy, and very red faced, a little sick....but feeling VERY accomplished! I started out with the "five minute brisk walk", which ended up being more like ten, by walking up my street and across the main street to a walking trail. It was slightly up hill but I went for it. I came across a path heading into the trees and went down it only to discover that it was NOT a branch off from the walking path, but someone's driveway. (this happened not once, but twice.) then I entered what looked like a park (a National type park, not a kiddie one) and found two signs at the end: one with a black silhouette of a canine, the other said "Privetz Forrestz" (if a native German is reading this I apologize for butchering your language and I promise to correct it later) so I'm thinking the big sign at the start that I thought was a park sign may have actually been a sign for a housing development. Fearing someone might call the Polizi on the illiterate, trespassing dolt, I let my love, Katy Perry serenade me as I turned and hot footed it back the way I came. I went back to the one thing I KNEW was a walking path and stuck to that until it ended....too soon for me. Then I made my way home, alternating between running/jogging, and "brisk walking".
Okay, so not the smoothest first go. I should have planned better, maybe look up some places near me that are good for running. But I am a noob at this okay? And I still feel pretty damn proud of myself. Before I left out I checked Facebook and read all the comments on my Big Reveal post that accumulated as I slept....have to admit guys, I cried a little. As I huffed and puffed my way through my first run, I ran those comments through my mind and they kept me going. So, I end this post with a big shout out to you, my friends and family. Your support means the world to me and gives me strength to do this. I know this journey of mine won't be easy, but I also know that I CAN DO IT! Peace out my loves, I'm gonna go take a shower ^_^
